Our Martingale collars are finally ready for you greyhound/lurchers/whippet pooches. We wanted you to feel su-paw special too so we have taken a long time to create the most pawfect collar for you.
 Martingales are also becoming a very popular choice with other medium/large breeds too due to their tighten-when pulled nature. (If your doggo has ever slipped or backed out of their collar, you may want to consider using a martingale collar too.)

About Martingales:
Martingale collars were designed to gently tighten around the neck when your dog pulls suddenly so it won’t slip over your doggo’s head when under pressure.
This is the perfect collar for dog’s who’s heads are smaller than the circumference of their neck.
The Martingale Collar consists of a length of material with a metal slide at each end. A separate loop of material passes through the two sliders to create the martingale loop. Your leash then attaches to a D ring on this loop.

When your dog tries to back out of the martingale, the collar tightens around their neck. The main part of the collar is adjustable and when the collar is properly fitted it will tighten just to the size of your doggo’s neck, it won’t choke him but will prevent the little rascal from escaping.

Martingale collars are walking out collars and should be worn under supervision and removed when indoors.

How to measure for correct size:
These collars slip on over the head, therefore, two measurements are needed. Please measure the dog's neck where the collar would sit naturally and the widest part of the head ensuring that the collar can be slipped on and off easily. Select the size of the collar accordingly. Properly fitted, the collar will be comfortably loose whenever the dog is not pulling against the leash.

Difference between a martingale dog collar and a traditional dog collar is that the martingale collar has two loops.
1st loop- For adjusting size around your dog’s neck.
2nd loop- To give extra control when a lead is attached so when your dog starts to pull, the collar will tighten around your dog’s neck without choking. Once your dog stops pulling the tension is released and the collar will slacken. This offers a more humane alternative then choke collars.

Side note: If your dog pulls, before deciding to change your dog’s collar you should first try positive training techniques and get advice off a professional. Most dogs should be able to comfortably walk with a normal collar and lead with adequate training.

If you have decided to use a martingale collar it is imperative you understand how to adjust it. If the adjustment is good then when it tightens it will only contract to the size of your dog’s neck and no further, this ensures your dog isn’t choked in the process. Before you start using the martingale collar make sure you have thoroughly checked the adjustment.
Because of the way martingale collars are used (to prevent dogs slipping they’re collars and to help in training) it is really important to note that a dog should never be left unsupervised wearing a martingale collar.

If you find your dog doesn’t take to the martingale collar then you should stop using. Constant pressure on your dog’s neck from the tightening of a martingale collar could cause harm. Always consult with a professional accredited trainer or vet to see what recommendations and alternatives there might be.
